Label for input box not showing -...
Hello great ones!
Just started the trial version.
The labels I make for the input box do not show left of the input box but can only be seen inside the box in the preview mode. Hmmm.... Not a pleasant start!..
Yes, my font color is black on a white background.
Help!

D-J - I'm assuming that you are talking about Form Builder, since you are describing input boxes and labels. If not, please tell us, since the thread name does not show which software you are referring to.
You have the ability to move all text boxes wherever you'd like. So just click on the label text to select that box, and move it to the left of your input box, if that is where you want it.

If this is about the Form Builder, what do you mean by 'label'?
When you add an input box to the form, you have, on the right side, an option called Name, and as a default name it reads 'My Input Box 1' (if it is the first one.) That is often called a label, but it is not supposed to show up in preview or in the finished form at all.
If you mean the text box with the clue to what you want the user to write into the input box (e.g. 'Your first name'), you have to add a 'text box' and place it where you want it to appear, as Phil says above here.

Dear Ones!
Yesh.... Web Formbuilder I am testing.
Thanks for the pointers, but... still can't figure it out. Attached are screen shots of what I am working with.
I added a text field, but what I am typing in the text field frame on the right cannot be pasted into the field on the form.
See also the preview, where it all nicely shows up - except... in the fields, not to the left of them.
Weird....
Lemmeknow!
Thanks!

D-J. It looks as if you have placed an input box to the left of the name(s) box. At the top of the form builder click on text. This will place a text box to use as a label for your input box's.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

Dirk-Jan,
First, make sure you know the difference between a text box (first blue icon from the left) and an input box (second blue icon).
The text box is for explaining what has to be entered into the input boxes, and they are usually placed to the left of the input boxes, or above them. The actual text has to be entered in the 'tool area' on the right side where it says 'Your text', and as default it has 'Your text here' written in it.
The input box has to have a name/label since you are likely to have several input boxes and you need to see what they are when a filled-in form comes in by mail. You write in the Name field in the tool area something like 'firstname' or 'birthplace' or whatever is needed. The name/label is not visible in the form while working on it, nor is it visible in the finished form.
The input box also has an option where you can use a 'Starting text' in addition to, or instead of the text box that I've been banging on about above here. If you write a starting text for your input boxes, that text can be removed by the user who then types in whatever information you are asking. The starting text is not visible while working on the form, but it is visible in preview and in the finished form.
I was not able to open your first attached screenshot (you can see it has 0 Bytes), but from the second screenshot it looks like you have confused the starting text with the text box. You know of course, that the box you want to work with has to be selected, and the tools on the right change according to which element you have selected.

Oh, I see you mention a 'text field'. That is the third blue icon from the left, and it is used for any lenghty explanation, e.g. if a customer wants to explain a problem or so, and it gets a scroll bar if the user writes more than there is room for. A text field also should have a name, and it may have a starting text.
But a text FIELD is something for the users to fill in, whereas the text BOX is for the one who creates the form. It is similar to the INPUT box in that the starting text is visible in preview but not when creating the form. You cannot use a text FIELD instead of a text BOX, they have complete different purposes.
