I'm obviously not making myself clear. I'm really trying to . . . chuckle.
I created the shop. It is awesome. Works wonderfully. Was easy to do. Love it. However . . . there are no instructions for how to direct people from your website to your shopping cart beyond a "general go to shopping cart."

I already have a website that I build with coffee cup. I have product for sale on that site.
When someone one is on my website (not my shopping cart) and they see a product for sale . . .
how do I put a button on my web site (not my shopping cart) so that my customer can click
on "add to cart" and it will add the product to my shopping cart from my web page
(not my shopping cart page). without leaving my website page, so they can continue shopping.

AND how to I create a "View Cart" button/link and a "Check out Now" button/link to place on my website, NOT my shopping cart.

I hope this is clear.

You can't have a link on your website that will add the product to the cart. You can link pictures on your website to products in your shop so that when a customer clicks it they're taken right to the product page where they click add to cart.

If you go to www.jayetra.com and click on any of her products they each have an "add to cart" button. This adds the item to her shopping cart, without leaving the page you are on. Then she has a view cart button and a check out button and she is using the coffee cup shopping cart. so, obviously it is doable.
Perhaps I should just ask her how she did it.

If you look at your browser status bar at the top you will see where some of the links on the site take you. They are http://www.jayetra.com/shop/ That site http://www.jayetra.com has no links adding products to your cart. There is a link to view your cart but that will only work if you already visited the shop and added products. The web page at http://www.jayetra.com has pictures with links to the page in the shop with that product.

If I understand correctly you don't want the customer to go to the shopping cart checkout page after they add a product to the cart, you would like to have them stay on the product description page. That would be in the your shop settings, You can either have it set to View Cart After Adding Item or Continue Shopping. Does that help?

Sorry, evidently I missed your earlier post that said her site wasn't actually a website it is all built in the shopping cart. That explains my dilema. Disappointing.

I don't want to just send people to a shopping cart. I want them to stay on my site and shop there and use the shopping cart to check out, so I'm thinking this program isn't going to work for me. bummer. I really
like it the easy build but the inablility to connect it to my already existing website makes it non functional for me.

You can customize the shop to look just like you website and make it as seamless as possible as the site we were looking at did. The shop is still your website but has to function as it's own entity because of the technical stuff that goes on in the background. Links to products can be put in your website to take users to the product page where they can get more detailed pictures and descriptions if needed.

So basically I would be rebuilding my website in Shopping cart creator. Then what is the point of VSD.
I dread the thought of totally learning a new coffeee cup program and rebuilding all my sites.

Use VSD to create the home page and any other pages you might need to complete your shop. You can customize the pages in the SCDP and SCCP to your liking. I'm sorry it's not as easy as just putting all the links on your website. I think if you go out and look at other shopping cart options your not going to find the support or the knowledge base to help you out. Making your shop look just like your website is a great but there again it still should have its own feel so users know where there at in your website.
