New to HTML - Post ID 138446
Hi,
I'm an embedded designer (microprocessors) and my company wants to me to design a web controlled apparatus. I haven't written HTML in a very long time and it seems that alot of things have changed.
The CoffeeCup software seems like it will do exactly what I need it to do but do to my lack of knowledge of the software, I do not know where to begin.
Do you recommend a book or a website that shows how to create pages (from simple to complex) using your software.
Thanks for the help.

Hi,
There are loads of books out there teaching html for beginners. CoffeeCup also has one, called 'My website is better than yours', which can be ordered, but I think only as a pdf unless they have printed new copies.
There are also websites where you can learn html, this is a good place to start: http://www.w3schools.com/default.asp
And this place is also a good place to ask questions. We're all very friendly and helpful
Good luck!

Unless you are working on something confidential, you can also post your stuff here for us to help you out, I'm presuming you have a plan for your layer that goes between HTML and your controlled hardware?

I printed the help guide out and put all the pages in a binder - now I've got my HTML Editor manual handy whenever I need it You could also use a dual monitor set-up and keep the help guide open off to the side as you work.
These are great "cheat sheets" for html, css, javascript... :

They're ring-bound, so easy to leave open and reference as needed.

I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by. (Douglas Adams)

My website is better than yours is a good place to start, as well as supplementing it with the html5 booklet, both available here in the store.
