Problems downloading software to...

So I want to start learning and practicing my Javascript skills. I've decided to use coffeecup. So I go on their site and download the free version. Once it finishes downloading I try and open it. It says "there is no application set to open the document". I click on the "search now" button and this page comes up: http://macfileopener.org/ext/exe/?amc=1 … pver=1.0.9

So obviously my attempt to download the free version of java script failed and i need to download an extra program or application to work it. Judging from the list of software programs to open this .exe file which one do you recommend I download and do you have any recommended pages I can go to to download the software (one where I won't get a virus or get my computer infected with anything nasty)? Thanks

???
1. Are you a Mac user?
2. If you by 'coffeecup' are referring to the HTML Editor, that is for Windows users.
3. The 'document' that can't be opened, what is that?
4. If the 'document' is the actual HTML Editor, downloaded to a Mac, that explains why you can't open it.
5. Coffeecup Software has no 'java script editor', although js files can be opened and edited in HTML Editor - on a Windows machine.

I think you need to be more specific about your OS, the 'coffeecup' app, the 'document' and what you actually are doing.

The free editor is also just for Windows. Take a look at this page: https://www.lifewire.com/best-free-html … ac-3469019 and see if you can find something you can use.

You could also try contacting another forum helper here, Brian, to ask if he has some recommendations for you. He is a well-versed Mac user.
