Using index.html or forms created in...
Hi-
I've just about settled on purchasing Visual Site Designer, but first I'm wondering if there's any way I can import or otherwise get an index.html page I created elsewhere into VSD as a starting point? I want to avoid having to recreate it if possible.
If I can't use the whole page, will I be able to use elements from it? I have a form I created using Wufoo, and that gives me the code needed to embed the form in a page -- will I be able to use that, for example?
Thanks!

Your not going to want to use your old page with VSD because it will keep your hands tied when it comes to editing it. You can however pull in the code from other elements on it. VSD has a HTML tool that allows you to insert code. You can accomplish a lot with VSD and if you need help everyone in this forum is usually around to point you in the right direction. Download the trial version and take it for a spin. I know you'll fall in love with it like I did.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.

Ok, thanks Eric.
As long as I can use the HTML tool to insert code I should be good to go.
Thanks again!

P.S. I did have the trial, but it expired before I really gave it a workout. I still liked what I saw, though, so I'm going to go ahead now that I know I can use some existing code.

VSD creates its own page files (.vnu), which get uploaded as html pages. It would be best to begin with a blank VSD index page. You could go online to your existing site and drag/drop any text, photos, and other graphic elements to your new page. Then use the html tool in VSD to insert the code for your form.

I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by. (Douglas Adams)

That sounds like a great idea. I don't have to upload from VSD first, then, I can drag stuff down from my site to my local .vnu pages? If so, that'll save me a lot of time. OTOH, I might be misinterpreting completely -- time to read the manual!
Thanks!
