Whenever I use a red or orange "Arial" font in a text box, it looks bright red or bright orange in the VSD editor. But as soon as I move my cursor off of that text box (to select or highlight another element on the page), the red or orange text takes on a "drop shadow" look, with a greyish tinge.
It makes the lettering less clear, less colorful, and even a little bit "dirty" looking.
I've tried checking and unchecking "Use Advanced text" and I've looked at the Object, Fill, Effect, and Styles property inspectors for my text boxes, but it's not apparent where I may be going wrong.
Blacks, blues, and greens look good. Reds and oranges look "dingy", and this seems to only apply to text boxes, not buttons. When the site is generated, the affected text has the same dingy look.
Clarification: Using a font other than Arial seems to reduce the phenomenon to some extent. However, I prefer to use Arial font throughout my site, because I think it's the most easy-reading font.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!
