I can't believe I've been trying to upload this cart for almost 14 hours. Guess it's time to pull off the road and ask for directions!:P
I'm trying to add it onto an existing site; for example: mysite.com/shop/. I've tried publishing from within CCSC and get the all was successful message - but the files are not on the server, and I can't figure out where they would have been sent to. Also tried using CC Direct FTP, but can't even connect to the server to get started - keep getting an error message about the server trying to send an unidentified http request. I finally got some of the files uploaded by using the add files function in VSD, then re-publishing the VSD site. So now my public_html/shop/ folder has some files in it. But I don't know what else it needs to get working. When I try to see the cart online, I get a 500 error (internal server error).
Here's what's on the server so far:

Info: Vista Home Premium, latest versions of CCSC and VSD, all firewalls off, passive mode on. Have read all the instructions and trawled through the forums.
Going to take a break now and hope someone has some ideas to try when I come back.

Shopping Cart Creator and Direct FTP use the exact same FTP components, so they should both work if one does. Uploading your shop through VSD will pretty much break everything. You can only upload manually with an FTP client or through SCC itself.

Now depending on your server setup, this could be /public_html/shop or public_html/shop The first / is very important as it means two completely different locations. You need to confirm what the proper one is.

Also, having the url to your shop would help out a lot.

Thanks Scott! I was hoping I wouldn't have to reveal my total incompetence to the site owner - if she searched for her sitename dot com this thread would probably be the first thing to pop up.:o
I've tried changing the slashes on the remote folder name. No luck there. The upload seems to work - I see all the files whizzing by, then get the site was uploaded successfully message.
If only I could find the files on the server! The folder is always empty, and I get a 404 error or the even better FORBIDDEN error when I type in the URL.
I did notice that when I save the cart to a local folder (save before upload), that file has no index.php. If I export, the folder has an index.php as well as several other php files. Here's what I get when I open the Direct FTP (before I even try to do anything):

Can you get any useful info from that? I'll go delete everything and get ready to give it a fresh start....

It looks like you set the upload protocol to use HTTP but your server does not support that. You need to use FTP. Modify your server settings and change the Protocol from HTTP to FTP.

There's an idea - I was afraid to change the default setting in case I messed it up even more!
Off to give it a try.....

I just purchased SCCPro and everything looks great, but I cannot upload. I get the "error on upload" mesage and upload says it is finished. When I check the location there are no files. I can access the location '/home/xxxx/www/xxxxx.com/shop/ via wsftp and can move files in and out. I'm using ftp protocol in sccpro and the username / password is correct - anybody have any ideas?

Have you tried checking (or unchecking) the passive mode option to see if that helps under your FTP setup?

I will, but here is another data point when I removed the remote location location /home/xxxx/www/xxxxx.com/shop/ and just entered /shop/ into the remote location it began to upload - but I have no idea of where! I looked in all locations from home through to the web site location and no files could be found, at least not by wsftp. Is there some type of ownership issue that could be at play?
