I'm a furniture guy. I have been fighting trying to get my own website up and running the way I want it since back when the internet elite thought it was wrong to put credit cards and sales info on the 'information' highway. A long time. I've used Frontpage, I've used the stuff my hosts have provided, I've used VERY expensive web developers. I have never been happy with what was produced. I'm a professional furniture guy, but I'm an all around perfectionist.
I found Coffeecup by total accident. A client I was doing some furniture consulting with mentioned CC. I checked it out because I had just had my 'host provided' shopping cart dumped - by accident - with all my copy, etc. gone in the process. I tried Shopping cart creator. It worked great. Some problems with capabilities, some business issues to deal with, but I worked around them and have my store on my own computer where I can manage it and keep it as I see fit. I'm actually getting a lot more orders with the SCC store than I did with anything else.
So then I decided to try branching out. I bought Visual HTML Editor. I'm a furniture guy. I was disappointed when I discovered it wasn't totally VISUAL. The support forum people are WONDERFUL. They actually respond, and they actually try to solve problems - not just duck and pass the buck, or sell some more stuff. After a go-around or two on the issues, they suggested I should be using Visual Site Designer. Another upsell, I said to myself - in disgust. Well, I bought VSD, and it didn't upload right. I was upset about this. I complained and, yes, I bitched. Again, the support folks were great. They worked with me, and they understood my frustration without taking it personally. With VSD support working with my host support, we all determined there is something in my computer which is a 'glitch' that, to this day, makes uploading impossible through the program. So what? Coffeecup and my host helped me get it done through Firezilla. That may be a bad word here, but they just cut through the sales crap and solved my problem. HOORAY FOR COFFEECUP!!! I'm very confident that one of these days I'll find the problem, or they will write a new upgrade which works around whatever it may be.
I just can't say enough positive about CC. I'm not one to blow somebody else's horn unless they're paying me. CC is NOT paying me, and I'm very willing to toot the tuba for 'em. They will stick right with you when you have a problem, and they'll solve it one way or another - in my experience. Yours may vary, but I doubt it.
Keep up the good work folks!

Yeah, as much as I HATE to see these posts on here too (seem like I take them a bit personally for some reason), I agree that they should remain. At least, unless they are just really off the wall outragous, and rude, crude, and socially unacceptable. When I'm evaluating a site/product and see negative comments on the site, will look to see how things were handled. You can't expect any company to please everyone 100% of the time.

Great first post, Phil you inspired him already. Btw, that avatar gives me nightmares too.
My tee shirt site http://www.teedojo.com, warmly and fuzzily done with SCC + SCD. I kinda like it even if I've yet to sell any shirts! Hah!
Catch me and say hi!. I don't bite, but I will help you with your website so you can kickstart your web presence today.

I have been using CoffeeCup software for almost five years and can gladly say that they are as helpful as possible on any support ticket submitted. The drive-by hit above is dishonest because the people at CoffeeCup will help and if they need to will send the issue to someone else until it is resolved. Thank you CoffeeCup team for all the years of great products and service.
Now I'm going to go over to the suggest software section for something I really wish you guys would develop - a comment script or program for a website to allow comments (after registering users)...

My wife has a complaint about CoffeeCup !!!!!!!!!
She says she used to be a workaholics widow, and now she is a CoffeeCup widow
At 53 years of age, with arthritis almost crippling me as far as my jewellery manufacturing goes, thanks to CC I can now sell things that others make instead. (still a few of my own)
I tried lots of other programs Cubecart, Magento, just to mention a couple, all failed sales wise.
FTP was a mystery to me, and its only thanks to CC staff , and help in the forums my website exists.
Yep it takes time to learn, and things go wrong, but then unlike the programmer who started this thread, I had no idea at all when i started.

Interesting reading, to be fair in general most of the software I use have been good. I have been using CoffeeCup software since 2003.
The only software I found a little quirky is the Web Calendar. on occasions it does not show an event or shows it in the wrong month and wrong days. However by refreshing the browser it reverts back to what it should be. I suspect there is a bug or Internet Explorer is playing tricks again
