Here is my latest site which I designed for my dad who is an amazing artist, check it out and critique away.
http://lukachart.com
I used VSD, flash fire starter, flash form, and flash gallery all coffeecup products.
Hello there,
First and foremost, I must just say what amazing work your father does. Beautiful.........stunning.
I truly love pencil and ink work as the images cannot get away with sloppy work usually. Can't cover up a mistake with a blob of paint!
As for the site - the concept is great so my only "criticism" would be that you seem to have made the image galleries slightly different sizes - OR - you haven't used the useful little guage in the VSD interface to get the bottom colour swatch lined up in exactly the same place on every page.....
Just in case you hadn't noticed it - down the right hand corner of the screen you will find the little x and y coordinates which are extremely useful for lining up objects. Just highlight the object and either drag and drop it, or use the directional arrows for nudging it just where you want it.
Alternatively, once you have lined up correctly on one page, just copy and paste to subsequent pages.
I personally prefer the written indications on my image galleries for the audio (which I normally turn off for download times), albums and play commands. And I like to put in the arrows to allow visitors to move forward as they like through the thumbnail images.
Don't forget you could always get your Dad to produce something to replace the CC images and maybe retain a "corporate" style with your interesting site text image........
I am looking at your site on XP IE6 at 1280 x 768 and see at least one of the galleries chopped off slightly at the bottom - which could mean that you need to arrange the gallery on a higher level - or better still - drop the bottom colour swatch down the page very slightly.
Hope you regard all this as positive criticism, as I really do like the overall effect of your very attractive and striking site.
